- Paste it above Tap the input field and paste. The Paste button fills it in one tap if your browser allows clipboard access.
- Press Download The Reel is fetched in a few seconds and you choose what you want — video, audio, or the cover image.
What this tool can and cannot do
Most downloader sites promise things that are not technically possible. Here is the honest version.
- Public Reels, in the quality Instagram servesNo re-encoding, and no quality loss beyond what the platform already applied.
- Your own Reels, including archived onesAs long as the account is public at the moment you paste the link.
- Private accounts — we cannot, and will not tryThat needs a logged-in account. Any site asking for your Instagram password is not safe.
- Removing a TikTok watermark from a cross-posted ReelThat watermark is baked into the video file. No downloader can strip it.
- Downloading is not permissionSaving a Reel gives you no rights to it. Credit the creator, and do not repost commercially without asking.
Which links work
Paste any of these and the IG reel downloader will recognise it:
instagram.com/reel/…— the standard link from the share menuinstagram.com/reels/…— the plural form some apps produceinstagram.com/p/…— feed posts, including video posts and carouselsinstagram.com/tv/…— older IGTV links, which Instagram still resolves
Tracking parameters such as ?igsh= are stripped automatically, so you can paste the link exactly as the app copies it. Story links and profile links are not Reels, and the tool will say so rather than failing silently.
What you can save
One link gives you every format Instagram holds for that post. There is no separate page to visit for each one — paste once and pick what you need.
Why use this Instagram Reel downloader
Nothing is kept
Your link is processed in memory and discarded. Files stream straight through to your device. No history, no logs, no account.
No fake buttons
One Download button that does what it says. No decoy buttons, no redirect chains, no countdown before your file appears.
Built for the in-app browser
Most people arrive straight from Instagram’s own browser. The tool is built and tested for that, not just for desktop Chrome.
Straight answers
When something cannot be downloaded, the tool tells you exactly why instead of showing a generic error.
A note on quality and watermarks
Every Instagram downloader advertises downloads “without watermark”. For Instagram, that claim is close to meaningless: unlike TikTok, Instagram does not burn a logo into the video file. A Reel saved from Instagram’s servers is already clean, whichever tool you use.
There is one real exception. Many creators film in TikTok, save the video with TikTok’s own button, then upload it to Instagram. That watermark is part of the video before Instagram ever sees it, and no downloader can remove it. If you can see a logo drifting between the corners of a Reel, it will still be there after you download it.
The question worth asking instead is resolution. Instagram stores several encodes of every Reel and serves whichever fits the viewer’s screen and connection. This tool requests the largest one and shows you its dimensions before you save anything, so you can tell what you are getting. No downloader can exceed the quality the creator uploaded — if a Reel was exported at a low bitrate, that is the ceiling.
Your privacy
The link you paste is sent to our server, used once to look up the media, and discarded. Nothing you paste is written to a database, attached to your identity, or shared with anyone. Downloads pass through the server as a stream and are never saved on it.
We never ask for your Instagram username or password, and no downloader has a legitimate reason to want them. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
Questions people actually ask
Do Instagram Reels have a watermark?
No. Unlike TikTok, Instagram does not burn a watermark into the video file, so a Reel saved from Instagram is already clean. The one exception is a Reel originally made in TikTok and cross-posted — that watermark is part of the video itself and no tool can remove it.
Can I download Reels from a private account?
No. Private content requires a logged-in account that has been granted access, and this tool has no Instagram account and never asks for yours. Sites claiming to unlock private profiles are either lying or harvesting credentials.
Does Instagram tell the creator that I saved their Reel?
No notification is sent. That is worth separating from whether you should, though — saving a Reel does not give you any rights to it.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Everything runs in your browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. There is nothing to install, no extension, and no account to create.
Where does the downloaded file go on my phone?
On Android the file lands in your Downloads folder and usually appears in the gallery within a minute. On iPhone it saves to the Files app rather than Photos, and you can move it to your camera roll by opening it in Files, tapping Share, then Save Video.
Is it legal to download Instagram Reels?
Saving your own Reels, or content you have permission to use, is straightforward. Downloading someone else’s Reel transfers no rights to you, and reposting it commercially without permission can infringe their copyright. Instagram’s Terms of Use also restrict automated collection of content. We are not lawyers, and this is not legal advice.
Is there a limit on how many I can download?
There is a fair-use limit of roughly ten Reels per minute per visitor. It exists to keep the service responsive for everyone, not to push you toward a paid tier — there isn’t one.
Why did my link fail when it worked yesterday?
Usually one of three things: the post was deleted, the account switched to private, or Instagram is temporarily rate-limiting requests. The message will tell you which. If it is rate-limiting, waiting a minute almost always fixes it.
Do you store the links I paste?
No. Links are used once and discarded, and files are streamed rather than saved. There is no download history because there is nothing to build one from.
Can I get just the audio from a Reel?
Yes. When a Reel resolves, an audio-only MP3 option appears alongside the video and the cover image. Bear in mind that the music in a Reel is usually licensed to the rights holder, not to the person who posted it.
